Not much going on today. We got into Atlanta about 2pm and went directly to the convention to check in. All went smoothly and everyone is friendly – many evening singing! Not sure about why, but at least they are happy. Only got to go to one session today, on using JMRI to generate switch-lists for operations on a small layout, but it was good. Also visited the silent auction room and placed a few bids. There were lots of great items, but since I have confined myself to a few well defined niches it makes resisting easier. I will find out in the morning if I was successful bidder on anything. And finally, as can be seen by the picture, I picked up my official convention car in N scale. Very nice indeed.
Well enjoy the pictures such as they are, I will be doing more tomorrow and hopefully have lots more to say and an increase in both the quality and quantity of pictures.
The 2013 convention of the National Model Railroad Association will be held in Atlanta, Georgia from July 14 through the 20th. I am very happy to report that I will be attending at least from Thursday the 17th on. Earlier depends on work and wife and funds and life in general. There will be layout tours, workshops, seminars, displays, and just all kind of good model railroad stuff. And some prototype railroading too!
The show will be held in Marietta, which is in Northwest Atlanta, at the Cobb Galleria Centre. As always, the even also coincides with the National Train Show. The National Train Show® was established in 1988 by the National Model Railroad Association as a nationally sponsored combined industry trade show and public train show to promote the hobby of model railroading. The National Train Show offers convention attendees the opportunity to meet vendors, suppliers, and manufacturers of the hobby industry. Many manufacturers also unveil new products at the Show.
