Finally, they are back! The free bumper stickers for the 2012 presidential campaign. And at least for a while, until they are all given away, you can get yours. All you have to do is go to https://my.barackobama.com/page/s/om-get-your-obama-biden-sticker or click on the picture within this post to go to the official Barack Obama campaign site. If this time is like my past experiences, it will take about 2 to 3 weeks for your free bumper sticker to be mailed to you.
Please do realize that by filling out that form for the free sticker that you are giving them the right to email you and postal mail you in the future. You will be asked for donations, for volunteer time, and for support. But in my mind this is all worth it.
Oh, and for those of you worrying about sticking stickers on your car, two hints. I don’t want to put bumper stickers on my car either if they are going to damage the paint or never come off. To get around that you need to either stick your free sticker on the glass, or get some of that flexible magnet material and put the sticker on that, then on to the metal of your car.
If you do use the magnet route, please move the sticker around a bit every week or two and also make sure to clean underneath it. If you don’t, the contaminants and grit held down by the magnet can damage your cars finish. This is especially crucial if you have a metallic or semi-metallic paint job. The magnets can actually cause the paint to separate from your car and peel off when you remove the magnet.
For those reasons I plan on putting my free Obama for President sticker on my back windshield. But the magnet option is good too – as long as you take the precautions.
